Advisory Board

The Advisory Board assists management with strategic issues, however has no legal relationship with BMG’s Board of Directors.

With the Advisory Board’s adept guidance, BMG has established ongoing best practices in risk mitigation, privacy, social responsibility, Shariah compliance, and business continuity.

Bill Christie

 

In 1998, Bill was hired to manage the online marketing and development for a capital restructuring corporation. Since then, he has worked as a corporate copywriter, online marketer, SEO specialist and web designer in the mining and alternative energy fields.

Bill’s full-service online projects ranged from communicating the intricacies of Ecuador’s first major world-class copper porphyry deposit on behalf of Corriente Resources to building online interest in the world’s first multi-fuel alternative energy rotary engine for Rotary Power Inc. of Miami. Both of these projects ended in successful buyouts.

Bill works with BMG’s marketing communications team to ensure effective written messaging and as an online marketing advisor helping to guide the company’s new Internet and social media marketing campaigns.

Garry W.G. Clement

President and CEO | Whitecollar Consultants and Investigative Group

Garry has enjoyed a distinguished career that includes over 30 years of policing experience with the RCMP in a range of management and investigative roles. On retiring, Garry held the national position of Director, Proceeds of Crime. He subsequently served four years as Chief of Police for Cobourg, Ontario. His areas of expertise include combined forces operations, municipal policing, protective policing, organized crime enforcement, proceeds of crime and money laundering (white collar), relationship management and negotiation. Currently, Garry is President and CEO of Whitecollar Consultants and Investigative Group.

Garry advises on all aspects of security for BMG, from physical security for the company’s offices and personnel to travel security for the company’s executives. He also plays an integral role in ensuring the protection of BMG’s clients’ personal information.

Helge Knudsen

 

After receiving a M.Sc. from the Technical University of Denmark, Helge started his career in computers at Northern Europe University Computer Centre, where he managed operations and software. Helge went to the US on a post-doctoral fellowship at IBM’s Scientific Centre in Los Angeles and Development Centre in Santa Teresa. He later joined Amdahl, and rose to the position of Vice President of Software Development. After moving to Canada, Helge started a software company that conceived, created and brought to market the Huron Software Development System. Huron was subsequently used by 150 Fortune 500 companies all over the world.

Helge oversaw the development of BMG’s state-of-the-art bullion bars proprietary sales and custody management software. He continues to oversee the expansion of the company’s computer capabilities to meet the new demands of international growth and advanced security.

Thomas McKaig

Founder | Thomas McKaig International, Canada

Thomas, owner of Thomas McKaig International Inc., is a widely recognized Canadian author with 30 years of international business experience. He lectures on quality management, international trade and is an Adjunct Professor in the Executive MBA program at the University of Guelph. His most recent book, Global Business Today (McGraw Hill-Ryerson), was published in November 2011. He has served as Executive in Residence at the University of Tennessee and has guest lectured at the Universidad de Montevideo. He was worldwide strategic marketing advisor to the United States Treasury Department Bureau in connection with the US Mint's Gold Eagle Bullion coin program.

As a Canadian expert on international business with expertise in international precious metals sales, Thomas continues to be the driving force behind BMG’s global expansion to markets in Europe, South and Central America, and beyond.

Ian Murray

 

Ian recently retired after a 34-year career with KPMG, Chartered Accountants, 25 of which were spent as an audit partner. His areas of expertise include financial accounting and risk management, and he has a broad base of experience in working with growth companies. Ian was responsible for the audit of the capital market activities of one of Canada’s major banks, and led the investment dealer practice. Actively involved in the profession, he chaired the Auditing Standards Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and represented Canada on the International Auditing Standards Board. Currently he is a director/advisor for a number of Canadian corporations.

As BMG moves forward, strategic partnerships like that shared with KPMG become increasingly important. Ian will serve as liaison between future strategic partners as he currently does with BMG’s existing partners.

George Parrill

 

After 42 years with The Bank of Nova Scotia, George Parrill retired holding the position of Director of ScotiaMocatta. His area of expertise included 33 years with Scotiabank's bullion team. During his distinguished tenure, he specialized in commodities, risk and liquidity management specializing in bullion. He also managed the trading desk. In addition, he worked with mining companies, central banks, mutual funds, investor clients and media, and oversaw the needs of Scotiabank's branch network as it related to bullion products.

George advises on issues related to precious metals storage and custodial agreements for both BMG BullionBars and BMG Funds.

Abdulla Silim

Middle East and North African (MENA) Practices and Business Development Advisor

As manager for the European operations of the Al-Murjam Group, one of Saudi Arabia’s largest family-owned commercial and industrial international developers, Abdulla supervised offices in Paris, Geneva and Nice. His responsibilities included managing the group’s real estate holdings and aviation division, as well as liaising with the group’s London-based oil and gas company.

Abdulla subsequently joined Gulf Capital Group, a Dubai-based investment bank. He has since formed and serves as Partner for Globescan Investments Inc., a Toronto-based international corporate finance advisory firm. Abdulla has a thorough understanding of the corporate culture in North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Abdulla advises on BMG’s Middle East and North African (MENA) practices and business development, a division that is rapidly expanding thanks to BMG’s status as the first Shariah-compliant precious metals fund in Canada.
